Here I am again

May 24th, 2010 at 06:15 pm

well i was doing this blog a year or so ago. I don't think i've come very far. I am being garnished currently, barely making ends meet, still owe May's rent, i have $2 in my pocket..hmmm what else? I don't know how to save and I am in over my head with collections. I filed chapter 13 but it wouldn't have been discharged unless I let it get dismissed and then refile. in the mean time i'm being garnished $600 for karate classes my kid never took. I don't know what to do first. Any help out there on how to get under control?

Welcome !! Don't worry - there are some great personal finance brains around here !

I have no doubt you will get back on your feet !

Why don't you select one issue at a time, post about it giving as much detail as you can and then see what advice you get ?

You can't do everything at once... take small steps until you get into a rhythm.

    One step at a time,

I remember your blog (not all the post though), once you mentioned the karate classes.

Welcome Back, Post as often as you can, you will be surprized how motivating it can be when you are posting about things.

Plus others will provide ideas on ideas on ways to improve.

I agree with the above... one smart decision at a time will lead to a better financial whole. In the mean time, try not to get too frustrated and do the best you can with each smaller choice (and challenge) that comes your way. That is really the only insurance that anyone has for making progress, no matter where they start out! Good luck to you...

I've read the blog from Jeffrey regarding the $31 food budget and how to shop wisely. I'm holding off on going to the grocery store until I am out of what I have in my cupboards, freezer, and fridge. Unless, its a staple that my son needs, eggs, cereal, milk, or chicken. But I think that groceries are such a easy way to blow too much money!! By looking at eating healthy and shopping wise I am beginning with the 1st step

I'll have to let the karate place take their payments out (until August) at lease that will be one bill PAID plus I'll get my son his lessons out of it.
